Library Column for July 29, 2021

@ Your Library

Just over two weeks of programming left in summer reading. We will take the last couple of weeks of August to prepare for the school year. If you took a puzzle piece to decorate please bring it back as soon as possible. We still have quite a few holes in our puzzle.

Consumer Reports online access password has changed. We just changed the year portion of the password. So if you know the previous password, change to the current password by changing the year to this year. Please call if you have problems getting in. Their new procedures require us to change the password every year, so as long as they will let us, we will keep the same base password and just change the year.

A new month will bring new take and make kits for adults and teens. After sharing the same projects in June and July adults will get a chance to create a unique mosaic bottle to use as a vase or add wicking and oil and create a candle. We thought a good end to summer for teens would be to create a stress ball. Supplies available beginning August 2 and will be available on a first come basis.

Finish the take and make kit and want to explore more art and craft possibilities? Be sure and take a look at Creative Bug with unlimited access to thousands of online art and craft video classes. I am most excited about our August take and make bag for families with young children. The Arrowhead Library System with the Minnesota Orchestra and Mary Casanova have created a Kinder Koncert in a Bag. Make your own music, create your own instruments and make animal headbands to enjoy with a copy of the book One Dog Canoe by Mary Casanova. These wonderful kits will be available while supplies last beginning August 2.
