Financial Report: The current bills were reviewed. Peterson made a motion to pay the bills, Barnhart seconded, motion carried. Peterson signed to pay the bills.

Director’s Report: January circulation was a rather disappointing 7% below January 2017. Storytime attendance was down in January. We had about 25-30 people make luminaries for Icebox days, but only 4 showed up to walk down 3rd street to the fireworks with them lit. We checked out three books at the first Libraries to You at the Community Café. We had half a dozen or so say what a cool idea, but not check out anything. A staff meeting was held on February 1st with a focus on staff training. Hoopla is now available to anyone in the county with a library card. The new Reading Ready books are here. We will do a big kick-off at the end of April. I have contacted Joe Chlebecek about partnering at programs the college holds for the public. They are working on their annual World War II presentation and would love to have us come with additional materials available for checkout. I still need to contact the hospital and find out if we can present at the new baby program they do quarterly to talk about the importance of reading to children daily from the day they are born. We received the Arrowhead Regional Art Council grant to complete our seasonal sculptures with a spring sculpture.

Old Business:

Vintage Aprons on Saturday, February 17th at 10:30am, edible car contest, Saturday, February 24th 10:30 am, Rangoli Sand Art Saturday, March 10, 10:30am. Food for Fines week will be March 19 – 24.

We are re-vamping summer reading to focus on building the reading habit among everyone. We are looking at an online program called READsquared which would allow us to register patrons online for summer reading or other reading programs and patrons to track their progress online, it also connects with our catalog to provide curated recommendations. It would cost us $495/year.

New Business: Election of Officers with Saxton nominating Peterson for chair, seconded by Nevanen. Nevanen nominated Saxton for Vice-Chair, seconded by Sullivan. Motion approved.
