Director’s Report – We finished 2025 on a positive note as far as digital circulation goes. Physical circulation was down 6% compared to 2024, but adding digital circulation we were up a smidge, .5%. Patrons seemed to enjoy having coffee and hot water for other beverages available all month. We will be continuing through IceBox Days, but need to also work on replacing the hot water pot as it is beginning to leak if the lever isn’t just right.

Storytime has started again and had 8 at the January 8th session. We will be doing Saturday storytime on the first Saturday of IceBox Days (January 17th), followed by a board game session with snacks. Elementary Fun will continue on the 4th Wednesday of the month, moving the time to 2:30 – 3:30.

Nothing much else to report at this time. Beginning to organize end of year reporting and organize for 2026 programming. We have some ALS Legacy programs coming. January includes a Takeout craft from them.

Old Business: New hot pot arrived and hot beverages continue to be available through Icebox Days. Crafters’ Café has a nice group that meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. We are working with Falls Elementary school again for the winter reading program and encouraging kids to read 60 of 70 days between December 20 and February 28. There is a January takeout craft from ALS using Legacy funds. The 2026 reading challenge will be using the ALS winter reading Passport for the whole year. Read three books in 10 different genres. Elementary Fun will meet the 4th Wednesday of the month.

We still need to present a second program with our Flight Path grant and will be working with Voyageurs Conservancy for a bird watching program in the new year. We have been approached by someone with the Daughters of the American Revolution who would like to present a program in the spring.

We are budgeted to receive $8,000 from the County and the city approved our requested funding.

New Business:  Moss moved and Winkel seconded to accept the $500 donation from George Hartmann in memory of his wife Ruth Ritchie.

Friends of the Library book sale is Saturday, February 7th from 11am –1 pm.

What are you reading? Katie is reading The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and didn’t recommend American Cozy by Stephanie Pedersen, Sasha loved When We Were Real by Daryl Gregory and is just starting The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Heather is being practical and reading Puppies for Dummies while Maggie enjoyed the fun Wishin’ and Hopin’ by Wally Lamb and found Refugee by Alan Gratz very well done. Cindy isn’t sure she recommends Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy and Diane just started Sisters in the Wind by Angeline Boulley.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11th, 4:30 pm

Meeting adjourned at 5:30 pm.
