@ Your Library
The remainder of 2025 will be busy for most people, but don’t forget to take care of yourself and give yourself time regularly to relax with a good book or a magazine. It doesn’t take much time to lower your heart rate reading and gain the other benefits of reading. Make your holiday season brighter by giving you and yours regular breaks. Starting next week we will have a display of holiday books available with a wide variety of titles that just happen to be set during the winter holiday season. Come find a favorite author with a holiday title or discover someone new to enjoy all year long.
Holiday stories will be shared at the December storytimes on Thursday mornings December 4, 11 and 18 and Saturday, December 6. All storytimes are at 10:30 am and feature about 30 minutes of stories, rhymes, songs and more followed by time with our early childhood learning toys and activities. Anyone under the age of 8 and their caregiver is welcome to join us for these wonderful forays into the world of books.
Enjoy the holiday season and don’t forget we have many delightful holiday movies, plenty of great board games for family and friends as well as a variety of kitchen items to help your holiday feasts. We have a Ninja blender, immersion blender, air fryer, instant pot, as well as a roaster for those really big family gatherings. And if family with young children are visiting check out our stroller with big wheels, portable high chair and pack-n-play crib/playpen.
If you are making gifts for friends and family don’t forget our Crafters’ Café which meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 11 am – 1 pm. If you trying to finish up gifts then make plans to join us December 9th and 23rd for a couple of hours of crafting time to finish up projects. I know I’ll be working on gifts up to the last minute (especially as we aren’t celebrating Christmas with one daughter until New Years). And if you are looking for gift ideas, check out one of our crafting kits such as metal stamping, wooden pen making, quilling, learn to crochet, embroider, or knit and create a memorable gift for someone special. We also have sewing machines and a serger along with irons, ironing boards and simple sewing kits.
As the weather changes and the temperatures drop, the library is issuing its annual reminder to not return CD books, DVDs and other media to the outside return at the library when the temperature is below zero. We have had a disc shatter when it is so cold. You are always welcome to call to renew items or go online to your account and renew the item and if it is a day or so late because of the weather we will not fine you. Thank you for helping us keep our material in good condition so others can use it as well.
