My Cabin Calls
Take me back to 1952
Opening the door to my cabin
Gathering my memories of Knotty Pine Walls and painted green wood floors, a vaulted ceiling
The living room with cottage pane windows
The old oak rocking chair with worn black leather seat
My view is Black Bay
I curl up in my old rocking chair and gaze at Sha-Sha Point
The breeze is light today
Hardly a ripple on sparkling Rainy Lake
What time, day, year is it
I am now standing at Sha Sha Point where we used to dock our boat
I am gazing across Black Bay to an open spot of green land
Everything is gone of the Red Cabin with yellow trim
The view calls me back but my cabin is gone with the Minnesota wind.
