One of the most useful skills as an adult is the ability to closely observe surroundings and make sense of what you take in. Learning this skill starts very early, and kids love to practice it. Kids are amazing in their ability to recognize patterns everywhere they look.
Talk about color, shape, size, radial patterns, repeating patterns, patterns built with numbers, patterns in words. Help your child find them and you are building an essential pre-reading skill.
Our craft this week is a pattern bracelet. Use the beads (or find other items such as ribbon or hardware parts) and make a bracelet to proudly share your child’s pattern making skills with Grandma and Grandpa. They’ll love it!
