Mud Pies and Grass Soup

Think back to your best memories of summertime. Mine inevitably involve some form of dirt. Playing outside is just plain good for the soul. Every time my dad mowed the lawn we would follow him around with a bushel basket, carefully picking up grass clippings. This formed the stock for our grass soup. We added sticks, small rocks, bits of flowers, pine cones, and whatever else we could scavenge from the yard and hedge row. Sadly enough we could never get anyone to eat it, but it was great fun pretending. And the mud pie desserts were decorated within an inch of their lives.

This week for Family Fun, we do have a pie pan and some bits and baubles to decorate the masterpieces. Call or stop by for your supplies before they’re gone and don’t forget to send us a photo of the final product!
