Call to Order: Saxton called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm
Motion was made by Nevanen, seconded by Peterson to approve the April minutes, approved unanimously via roll call vote.
Financial Report and Bills: Motion by Kostiul, seconded by Nevanen to pay the bills. Approved unanimously via roll call vote with Saxton abstaining. Nevanen signed the bills.
Director’s Report – Life continues to be weird. We checked out 926 items to 293 patrons last month via our pickup service. 921 items (compared to 761 in February and 843 in March) were borrowed via Overdrive and 497 (compared to 188 in February and 283 in March). We estimate we have approximately ten watching storytime live with most weeks ending up with about 100 views (no way to tell how many watch the entire storytime). Four patrons accessed LinkedIn Learning and 5 accessed Mango Languages and there were 14 visits to Consumer Reports so digital learning is happening and people are utillizing our digital resources.

Crafts in the Park – table on sidewalk with sign on table – ask at pick up table for supplies

July 8 and August 4 outdoor art programs with Twin Cities artists, utilize entire green space
Grants – no new news
New Business:
Motion by Nevanen, with second by Kostiuk to approve the library Preparedness Plan. Unanimous acceptance via roll call vote. Diane will attend the city council meeting via Zoom on Monday, May 18 to get approval to re-open the library per the preparedness plan.
Next Friends of the Library sale – looking at putting carts in parking lot and advertize a ‘pop-up’ sale on Facebook on nice days. Talking with Stacy Sather, book sale volunteer about what she would like to do and comfortable doing.
What are you reading? – Ted has been reading lots of comics with his son, especially enjoying Pinky and the Brain. MaryJo finished View From Mount Joy by Lorna Landvik, Diane enjoyed A Treacherous Curse by Deanna Raybourn, Paul read Booknotes: stories from American History compiled by Brian Lamb, Ashley read Third Wife by Lisa Jewell, Mona shared Everybody Needs to Forgive Somebody by Allen Hunt and Dick just returned Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice.
