Director’s Report

October circulation was better than September, we are currently down 4% for the year compared to 2016. Program attendance has been fairly good thus far this fall. A bookcase with used books has been placed in the new airport terminal and a staff member will check weekly to keep it stocked and straightened. Our Small Business Saturday program from last year was featured in a national newsletter for programming librarians. I attended a workshop by the Minnesota Digital Library on scanning equipment they will loan to libraries.

Voyageur Jacques LaChristian will be portrayed by a re-enactor on Saturday, Deccember 9th at 10:15 am. Carpeting is scheduled to be replaced on the south half of the main floor beginning Friday, November 10 and continuing November 11 (they think they can finish in two days now). No word from the county on the budget. I will be gone from Monday, November 13 – Sunday, December 3. William Frank’s last day is tomorrow.
