With the COVID-19 outbreak and resulting school closures, we put together this page of resources to help you and your family continue learning at home. It is not complete, and if you run across something amazing, please let us know so we can add it to the list.

If you don’t have a library card, but you wish to use digital items, you can apply for a card through the Arrowhead Library System website. If you include an email address as part of your application, your card number will be emailed to you the same day your physical card is placed in the mail.

Don’t forget about Brainfuse! IFPL has a subscription that allows students to interact with live tutors in math, science, reading/writing, social studies, and homework help. (It also has an Adult Learning Center with access to a library of rich adult learning content (GED) and live, professional assistance in resume/cover letter writing, U.S. citizenship prep, MS Office Essential Skills Series, and more!)

Storyline Online has a ton of recorded stories, but don’t forget we will stream our storytime live on Thursdays at 10:30 until we can meet again.

Author Kate Messner has a page with resources from favorite kids authors for online learning.

If you’re in the mood for music, the Metropolitan Opera is offering nightly streaming of operatic concerts. Or, there’s always the Dropkick Murphys’ St. Patrick’s Day concert.

Tumblebooks is offering free access to their site for library patrons. They have a grade K-6 Children’s Ebook Database, a K-6 Math Database, a 7-12 grade Ebook Database, and an Adult Audiobook Database. This is an amazing resource! Take advantage of it while it’s available.

Travel and Leisure has compiled a list of twelve museums worldwide that are offering free virtual tours.
