Director’s Report: May circulation was better than April but not as good as May 2017. Circulation is down 10% year to date when compared with 2017. 6 students have accessed Hoopla or Overdrive so far. About 80 participants have signed up for summer reading with 2 teachers signed up. We had a disappointing 22 at the kickoff program which was a fantastic program. Concrete has been poured for the final sculpture which is slated to be unveiled Wednesday, August 22. I have made contact with Cherie Belanger and Deb Larson who teach the RLMC childbirth classes. I am now on the schedule to speak at one class each quarter about the importance of reading for good brain development and language learning. My first presentation will be August 2.

Old Business: Upcoming Programs: Magic and comedy with Brodini on Tuesday, June 26th at 10:30am. Stories and more on Thursday mornings at 10:30. Lots of activities out in the library each week.

Anna Myer bequest – met with Kelly Myers, building inspector for the city. He didn’t see any particular issues that would make it unworkable. His biggest concern was about space and how much space would be needed per person.

New Business: Fan Jam: Minneapolis is hosting the NCAA final four in 2019 and we may have an opportunity to have the Fan Jam Truck visit the library which allows visitors to practice their shot, read books in its reading corner, take selfies with the National Championship trophy, score basketball-themed giveaways, enter a sweepstakes to win tickets to the 2019 Final Four and more. It will be traveling the state in September and October.
