Today at 2:00 pm, teens (anyone entering grade 6 and above) is welcome to come and paint with Bob Ross via video. Create your own masterpiece following the guidance of the master of happy trees. If you miss today’s program, the library will do another painting session with Bob Ross on Wednesday, July 26th at 2:00 pm. All teens welcome, with all supplies provided at no cost.

Stories and more on Thursday mornings at 10:30 am with wonderful stories, activities and more. Join us outside under the big tree (to the south of the library) if the weather is nice, otherwise meet in the library meeting room.

Check out our Facebook page for summer reading challenges. We encourage everyone to spend time reading every day this summer. Kids who listen or read at least twenty minutes a day for twenty days can receive a free book from the library. Kids can earn up to four free books this summer reading. The reading challenge for the second half of June is to read a book about dads, read a book with dad or read a book your dad liked, or would have liked. It is all about dads!

Are you ready for the lazy, hazy days of summer? Summer makes me want the familiar and that can include authors. Have you read the latest by your favorite familiar author? Anne Rice continues her Vampire Chronicles with Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis. Read a hypnotic tale of a great sea power of ancient time and how the force built and ruled the great legendary empire that thrived in the Atlantic Ocean.

Golden Age by Jane Smiley is the much anticipated final volume following Some Luck and Early Warning. The final volume of the Last Hundred Years Trilogy opens in 1987 to the economic, social, political and personal challenges faced by the Langdon family, which seem unlike anything faced by their ancestors.

Linwood Barclay returns to Promise Falls in The Twenty-Three. Everything has been leading to this, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend when hundreds sicken and dozens die after the water supply is poisoned. But why? And does it tie into the strange things happening around town with the number ’23?’

Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison have teamed up for another Brit in the FBI Thriller called The Devil’s Triangle. Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine are settling into their roles as heads of the Covert Eyes team but their first case might be their last as the dangerous thief known as the Fox reappears.

W. Michael and Kathleen O’Neal Gear have written many novels of Native Americans prior to the arrival of the white man in their series North America’s Forgotten Past. The newest title Sun Born focuses on the being Morning Star, a god resurrected in the body of a living man.

Rita Mae Brown returns to her much-loved hamlet of Runnymede where the citizens are welcoming both the end of the Great War and the beginning of a new era in Cakewalk.
